Challenger II |
Challenger II The ultimate air racer. I was always fascinated by those Air Racers participating at the Reno Air races. So I decided to design my own one. Off course it should be "High-Tech", so it had to be an aircraft with a tricycle gear, for better forward visibility and so on. 2 Engines would be better than one, more power, more speed...you know the story! Additional I always liked those counter -rotating propellors, so if one was good two would be better! The design itself should be as radical as possible. At the end this beauty? or should I say this monster turned up. The entire wing/fuselage section is made of balsawood and lots of putty (and I mean LOTS of putty),the canopy came from some other model as well as the landing gear, rest is completely scratch build. USN 91 René Hieronymus Scale 1:72 Building time: approx. 42 hrs.
