Here is, as promised the 2nd and final part of my travelreport about our visit of the Museum of the Austrian Air Force. In this part I have included several detail pictures of the Draken which were on dispaly at this fine museum. I hope you like them.
Today I received the first 2 copies of my forthcoming book about the USS Sangamon, titled:" An oilcan that sprouted wings", within the next 2 weeks the final work on this book should be finished and I will be able to sell it. If anyone here is interested please be so kind and let me know. Off course I will publish a few things about the book so that you can see at least some parts of it in advance. Now I hope that you wil have some fun with the new photos and as usual if you like them, feel free to come back for more. Keep on modeling, René Hieronymus |

Here we are again! And as promised I will post the first of two parts of my travelreport about the Museum of the Austrian Air Force in Zeltweg/Styria. 8 of our group went down there and we had a lot of fun as you can see in some of these pictures! The biggest surprise was perhaps our tour guide which was a former Austrian jet pilot who not only flew the Draken but several other types as well. With a total of about 11.000 hrs of flight time you could surely speak of competence! The tour was very interesting and we were able to take as much pictures as we wanted. Each of us was allowed to take a seat in a Draken too an offer we all accepted, even so that some of us had some "small" problems getting out of that tiny cockpit! Well we all are no longer 17 years old! Only Arne our "smallest" guy did not get enough and tried afterwards to get in an even smaller cockpit but see for your self.
Part II will be posted in a few days. In this I will post several detail photos of the Draken, so please come back for more if you like and keep on modeling, René Hieronymus |

Today I post an update that I was planing to do since many month, so it is more than time for me to do this! What I am talking about is the complete history of the Kaibokan model which I have build quite some years ago. So if you are not only interested in looking at some pictures but if you also enjoy reading some of the stories about certain models on this website, here you go: The history of the Kaibokan and the story behind the model! Have fun reading it.
You might have noticed that I have placed a new poll on our homepage. Some of you will remember that shortly after this website went online we installed a little forum here too. Unfortunately we experienced some trouble with that and even after finding the problems we still had the problem that it seemed as if noone was really interested in a forum on this site, so after watching some month if it might get started we finally decided to close it. But meanwhile we have a lot more traffic on this site and the number of people who are coming back frequently has risen significantly, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask you once again. So here is your chance, please vote and let me know if we should restart a small forum on this site. I f I will receive enough interest I will see to get a forum installed.
Thanks for reading and keep on modeling, René Hieronymus |
